Belinda Keogh

Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

Belinda graduated from Latrobe University in 2003 with a bachelor of Physiotherapy. Prior to this she completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) in 1999, also at Latrobe University. Whilst studying over these years Belinda worked as a receptionist at Symmetry Physiotherapy. On graduation she began her professional career with Symmetry Physiotherapy and is now a valuable member of our team. Being a local Werribee girl, Belinda is well known and respected among the sporting clubs and general community.

Belinda has developed a special interest in sports physiotherapy, working with various state and national sporting teams. Current involvement includes the Victorian Junior Volleyball squad and Victorian U18 Baseball squad. She has also had extensive training in clinical pilates and uses pilates exercises in helping recovery for patients with spinal pain as well as pre and post natal care.

Belinda has recently become the principal physiotherapist at Symmetry Physiotherapy Williamstown as well as working at Symmetry Physiotherapy Hoppers Crossing. On a personal note, she has been a state level representative in athletics and competes regularly in athletics, cycling and triathlons.

Mark Round

Physiotherapist

Mark Studied Physiotherapy at La Trobe University, graduating in 1993. Initially Mark worked at The Geelong Hospital performing general hospital rotations before heading overseas for an 18 month working holiday, basing himself in the U.K.

Upon return from his overseas adventure Mark began work full time at Symmetry Physiotherapy and is now the principal physiotherapist and owner at Symmetry Physiotherapy Hoppers Crossing. Over this time he has had extensive experience working with elite and suburban sporting teams. He was the physiotherapist for the Australian under 19 baseball team and the Victorian under 18 baseball team from 1998 to 2002, and is currently a consultant to the Victorian Institute of Sport baseball academy. He is the physiotherapist for the Hoppers Crossing Football Club and has been involved for 12 years as well as working with elite tennis players and the Australian Triathlon circuit.

From this sporting team involvement, Mark has developed a special interest in treating and rehabilitating shoulder and knee injuries. To further this interest he is currently completing his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at Latrobe University that will provide him the title of Sports Physiotherapist.

Mark is very passionate about the growth and development of Symmetry Physiotherapy. Outside of work he plays tennis in the Victorian pennant competition and enjoys being involved with the growth and happiness of his two children Mikaela and Mitchell.

Aaron Wong

Physiotherapist 

Aaron graduated from his physiotherapy training at the University of Otago (New Zealand) in 2001.  For 4 years he worked at 3 Stripe Rehabilitation in Wellington, treating some of New Zealand’s top professional and amateur athletes. He was the club physiotherapist for the Lower Hutt City Football club as well as servicing many of Wellington’s local rugby union and league clubs.

 

Aaron recently moved to Australia with his wife Catherine and joined the team at Symmetry physiotherapy in May 2006. He is already proving to be a very valuable part of our physiotherapy team. Aaron’s clinical areas of interest include sport injuries, lower limb biomechanics and exercise prescription.

Emma Carter

Physiotherapist

 

Emma graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2008 where she attained a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (With Honours).  Over the course of her physio studies she was fortunate to gain experience within both the public and private sectors. A highlight of her studies was the placement she did in London with one of the Physiotherapists for the English Athletics Team.  Additionally, over the past four years she has been involved with Old De La Salle Football Club in the Victorian Amateur Football League, where she gained significant 'hands-on' experience in dealing with sporting injuries and co-ordinating rehab programs for the reserves and senior players.
  
Emma has also previously completed a degree in Applied Science (Human Biology) at RMIT in 1999.  Her special areas of interest in physiotherapy include sporting injuries, women's health and clinical pilates. Emma has recently completed her training in clinical pilates, and along with her physiotherapy treatment will be taking pilates classes at the Williamstown clinic.

Steve Mount

Physiotherapist

Steve graduated with a Batchelor of Physiotherapy from Latrobe University in 2006. His interest in physiotherapy was triggered from a life long interest in sports and his own injury experiences.

Since completing his studies he has worked in private practice in both Queensland and Victoria. He has also had the opportunity to spend some time overseas in Europe and South America. He is very much looking forward to working with Symmetry Physiotherapy and has a keen interest in sports injuries and spinal injuries.

Away from work Steve enjoys playing football with St Kevins Old Boys in the Victorian Amateur Football Association. He also enjoys keeping fit and healthy, travelling, the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Alex Lopes

Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

Alex graduated from Latrobe University in 1995. Since this time she has worked extensively in private practice, clinical pilates and women’s health, as well as having time for a nine month overseas adventure. 

 

Alex is trained in Clinical Pilates and has worked alongside the Australian Clinical Pilates educator.  Alex supervises the Symmetry Physiotherapy Clinical Pilates program and assists with staff training and program development in both physiotherapy and clinical pilates.

 

Alex is presently lecturing and tutoring at Melbourne University in the Undergraduate Physiotherapy Degree.  Alex is passionate about education and has a key role in the ongoing education / mentoring across all three Symmetry Physiotherapy centres.

 

Alex is planning to further her studies in clinical research in her interest area “The Shoulder”.  She also has two beautiful children Mikaela and Mitchell.

Catherine Oldham

Pilates Instructor

Catherine discovered Pilates several years ago following her first pregnancy.  After 12 months of attending Pilates classes, she decided to extend her skills by completing some study and training in the area. She completed a Certificate III in Fitness, followed by Pilates 'Mat' and 'Swissball' courses, all of which allowed her to pursue work in the field. Catherine has now been working at Symmetry Physiotherapy since late 2005 and is a valuable member of our Clinical Pilates team.


Catherine’s working background is actually as a Secondary Teacher- a career that she has a great passion for and aids her in the teaching of Clinical Pilates. When not teaching Clinical Pilates she spends her days running around after her two small children, Campbell (3) and Tess (1), walking their dog and generally tearing about. In her spare time Catherine continues to do her pilates to improve abdominal stability following the birth of her children.

Bianca Condon

Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist

Healthy Hearts and Lungs Physiotherapy is a specialised physiotherapy service which is dedicated to the management of a wide range of conditions which affect the heart and lungs. These conditions include:

Based on the initial assessment, an individually tailored education and treatment program will be designed in consultation with the individual.  The program may include a variety of treatments (education, secretion clearance exercises, breathing exercises, self management strategies, exercise programs).

Bianca has extensive experience in the management of patients with the above conditions and has worked with clients with cardiorespiratory illnesses for the previous 5 years.  She has also completed a Master of Physiotherapy (Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy),  and apart from running this physiotherapy service, she is busy working at a large public hospital and running after her energetic daughter.
